Mario’s Day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium: Favorite Sea Creatures and Swag Style
We spent the weekend in Monterey and had an awesome day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I’ve always loved the Aquarium for its inspiring colors and the beauty of sea life. Mario loves it too, especially the sharks, penguins, and all the cool fish and creatures. He also enjoys the touch pools, splashing zones, and the special tentacle exhibit with the octopus, which was his favorite.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium opened on October 20, 1984, at the site of the old Hovden Cannery after the sardine fishery collapsed. Nearly 30 years later, it remains a window into the wonders of the ocean, showcasing sea creatures from one of the world’s richest marine regions. With more than 35,000 creatures representing over 550 species across 34 major galleries, there’s so much to explore.
The Aquarium is definitely a must-see if you’re ever in Monterey. Until then, here are some photos of Mario’s favorite sea creatures, plus a few shots of him in his usual swag: a graphic tee and slouchy sweatpants (Kira Kids “Going Back to Cali” T-shirt, Beau Loves slouchy sweatpants). After playing in the splashing zone, I changed him into his favorite J.Crew “Fast on the Field” tee (no longer available, but I love this one from J.Crew).
