Last week I mentioned that my sister Margie and brother-in-law visited us from New York (the week before the 4th of July), during their visit we took them on a ferry-ride to Sausalito and went to the California Academy of Sciences. I will post photos of our day at the California Academy of Sciences tomorrow, but today I want to share our day in Sausalito with you.
Mario loves taking boat rides, so we decided to get out of the city on a boat and took the ferry to Sausalito. In Sausalito, we got our favorite burgers and fries from Hamburgers Sausalito (my sister is vegetarian, so she had fish tacos from Sausalito Taco Shop), and had a Picnic in the park. After our Picnic, my sister and brother-in-law relaxed on picnic blankets and enjoyed the sun and our beautiful NorCal weather, while my husband and I kicked a soccer ball with Mario and chased him around the park. Kicking a soccer ball has been Mario's favorite thing to do since he could walk--in fact, he basically learned to walk with a football! My husband is a goalkeeper, as was his father and grandfather, and I am pretty sure (a mom can dream) that Mario is the next Tim Howard!
I wish my sister lived closer to us so we could have more days like our Picnic in Sausalito together, but I am happy we have Skype and visit each other when we can-- I need to plan a trip to NYC to see her again soon!
Mario is wearing a Real Punk Radio T-Shirt handmade by my sister and brother-in-law on an American Apparel Kids Neon Poly-Cotton Short Sleeve T-Shirt $5.50 (my brother-in-law is the Owner/General Manager of Real Punk Radio, and we listen to his show 'Tommy Unit Live' every Wednesday night at 10pm EST- my husband is wearing his Real Punk Radio T-Shirt $15.00 to match Mario); J.Crew FACTORY BOYS' HEATHERED SWEATPANT $29.50; and Customized Nike Free 5.0 iD Toddler Boys' Shoe $60.00. Our Picnic Blankets are STEVEN ALAN Beach Blanket $48.00 and World Market BLUE STRIPE PICNIC BLANKET $17.49 (no longer available online, but this World Market YELLOW STRIPE PICNIC BLANKET $17.49 is). I love both blankets and keep them in the trunk of our car, because you never know when you may need a blanket-- they also make great gifts because who doesn't love a Picnic?
