Get your Kids into Minimalist shoes to ensure Natural Foot Development! If you know me I am sure this sounds funny coming from me, I Love Heels... the higher the better, and my most uncomfortable shoes (and most expensive), are my favorite pairs. But that is me, and now that I have a growing son, it is of the utmost importance to me that all of him is Happy and Healthy, which includes his Feet and his "Little Piggies". I recently read an article from the natural running center which talks about the fact that Children should play in their Bare Feet; or in activity-shoes that complement natural foot development and the proper biomechanics of movement, i.e. select shoes for children based on the barefoot mode (my husband who is in the fitness industry does everything bare footed!). So when it comes to buying shoes for my son, I prefer to buy one or two more expensive pairs of shoes that simulate barefoot conditions, versus many pairs of cheaper uncomfortable, stiff, compressive shoes. My Choice of Shoe for my son, Mario, is the Nike Free Series. These are significantly cooler-looking and a more fashionable choice of sneakers (than others in the market) that simulate barefoot conditions and helps strengthen his feet. And they are so fashionable, even Aila Wang wears them, paired with a Leather Dress and a Kid Sized Chanel Bag of Course!
