It snowed in Düsseldorf last week and to simply say Mario was excited to play in the snow is a serious understatement! The snow was perfectly wet and fluffy, ideal for building a snowman and having a snowball fight. We had a blast running, playing, making snow angels and building a snowman (who Mario named Socky) together. Mario and I had a blast and it reminded me of playing in the snow when I was little in Minnesota. I enjoy seeing Mario so happy and knowing he is able to experience all weather and many cultures of this amazing planet that is our home. Then, later that evening it rained and as quickly as the snow came it was gone! We are still hoping for more snow before Christmas, though it looks like it will be a rainy and grey Christmas in Düsseldorf. However, It will be bright and cheerful in our home!
Merry Christmas and I hope you and your little ones have a bright day full of joy & love!
I love all holidays but I especially love Halloween! My family loves getting dressed up and Halloween is the funnest because it is a day all about costumes and, of course, candy - the candy, I must admit, is Mario's favorite part. My favorite part of Halloween is having our family dress up in a theme. Last year we all dressed up like characters from the Ghostbusters Movie staring Mario as 'Slimer the Ghost'. This year, Mario wanted to be the Joker, so I was his Harley Quinn and my husband was Batman.
Halloween Day was during Mario's Fall Break at his school in Germany this year, so we decided to take him to New York to trick-or-treat. Not until we moved to Germany did I really come to understand just how much of an American Holiday Halloween truly is and with a week off and loving Halloween as much as our family does, it only made sense for us to celebrate the holiday in America. Mario was so excited to go trick-or-treating in Brooklyn with his friends that he asked me: "Mama, will I get 10 pieces of candy?" he thought that was a lot. To his surprise and excitement he got a bag full of candy including what he discovered as his new favorite candy: 'Gobstoppers'. Mario also saw a Halloween parade and houses decorated beyond his spookiest imagination - we had a spooktacular Halloween in Brooklyn!
Enjoy Mario (aka the Joker) trick-or-treating in Brooklyn on HaLLoWeeN!
I am happy to share the first collaboration collection between Misha & Puff and Soor Ploom. Both designers have a love of classic styles and quality materials, so their first collection together feels very natural. Soon Ploom makes exquisitely cut wovens in Brooklyn and Misha & Puff makes knits in Peru, but this collection was designed with a twist - Misha & Puff designed the wovens while Soor Ploom designed the sweater knits. The result is a really unique Collection of 5 Styles in truly luxury materials that are all perfectly warm and cozy for holiday dressing. I think this is a lovely Collection and I hope Misha & Puff and Soor Ploom collaborate together again.
